    Musi Streaming App

By Victor Oshiro | Posted October 3, 2022 at 10:15AM
I got an email not too long ago telling me about the Musi app. I hadn't heard of it previously but I've been noticing that most music streaming apps I've been using have been having trouble with streaming. Currently Musi is only available for Apple products, but I was intrigued that it can...
  • USB finally fixed

By Victor Oshiro | Posted August 18, 2022 at 11:24AM
Why did this take so long? I mean, everyone knows it takes three tries to get a USB connector plugged in with its current design but now Apple is fixing this flaw. Check out the news story here.
  • Apple headphone jack

By Victor Oshiro | Posted June 5, 2022 at 10:41PM
The more of this story I read the less I liked it. I like being able to have one set of headphones for all my equipment - having to buy proprietary adapters or not being able to use future Beats headphones with anything but Apple products just doesn't seem appealing. Read about it here.
  • iOS 7.1.1 Now Available

By Victor Oshiro | Posted April 23, 2014 at 11:59AM
Just as the title says - its time for the latest update from Apple. Bug fixes seem to be the main focus of this update.
  • Apple releases iOS 7.06

By Victor Oshiro | Posted February 24, 2014 at 10:18AM
To combat a recently discovered security hole Apple has released a new iOS today. It's small - 13 mb. During the process my phone got stuck on the updating process - I'd get the Apple logo on the screen during startup but the OS wouldn't load. After connecting the phone to my laptop iTunes...

Apogee Jam 96 kHz/24 bit guitar input

By Victor Oshiro | Posted February 7, 2014 at 10:58AM
Apogee's original Jam input device gave 48kHz /24-bit recording to musicians but Apogee recently sent out a press release for their 96 kHz Jam guitar input device. With this you can connect your guitar or other electronic instrument to an iPad or an iPhone. This is what intrigued me: 96 kHz /24...
  • iPhone 6 and Phablet news

By Victor Oshiro | Posted January 7, 2014 at 11:56AM
Some interesting updates in this article. First, a price drop for the 5s to coincide with the release of a Phablet (phone/tablet) and some more firm news on the iPhone 6. Previously Apple wasn't willing to cut the throat of the iPad with a phablet but that appears to be shifting quickly.

  • iMessage not working in iOS7?

By Victor Oshiro | Posted October 3, 2013 at 11:10AM
Apparently I'm not the only one who found that iMessage no longer works in iOS7. Upgrading to 7.02 didn't help either. You did know 7.02 is out right? I suspect an update with a more classic look which also fixes all the glitches mentioned in this article will be out before too long. As far as...
  • Impressions of iOS7 after a week

By Victor Oshiro | Posted September 24, 2013 at 09:49AM
After a week with iOS7 I think we can finally weigh in. We weren't lucky enough to get a pre-release evaluation peek at the OS or new iPhone 5s and 5c so like you we had to download the OS, update, and install. I think that there were conflicting reports out there, some even warning users not to...
  • Is ios 7 more meaningful than the iPhone 5s?

By Victor Oshiro | Posted September 11, 2013 at 10:32AM
Just before the release of iPhone 5s Apple will release ios7. Since most of us aren't going to upgrade our phones, tablets, and watches on release day for 5s I think this will be a more meaningful attempt by Apple to hold onto its market share. If you can survive this long video let us know what...
  • Huge iOS, OS X vulnerability uncovered that can render apps unusable

By Victor Oshiro | Posted August 29, 2013 at 11:52AM
"Apple has been aware of this vulnerability for six months and has yet to patch the exploit in any currently available operating system build." Yikes, expect an update soon I suppose. So much hype with new OS releases to coincide with iPhone 5s probably made this a back burner at Apple. Read...
  • Apple's iPhone 5S WILL have a fingerprint scanner

By Victor Oshiro | Posted July 30, 2013 at 09:07PM
Looks as though this rumor is conclusive now. Whats the big deal? Biometric security could end up everywhere - from your car door to your front door. Maybe we'll lock someone out of the fridge if they don't do their chores or instead of entering a PIN with your debit card you can have your...
  • Possible Big Leaks on the Iphone 5s

By Quincy Oshiro | Posted July 17, 2013 at 12:37PM
An inside source reported to BGR.com recently about the latest possible features to be available on the Iphone  5s or possibly Iphone 6. Some features may include a fingerprint scanner and a 12 megapixle camera. Who knows if this is true, none of these features have been confirmed and we are...
  • Apple to debut a 60-inch, iRing controlled TV later this year

By Victor Oshiro | Posted April 4, 2013 at 10:31AM
Interesting idea - a ring as the remote. Can't wait to lose that remote though. Guessing that the opening price of $1500 makes this product have a great price point and the add on tablets (that may interact with the on screen content) could make viewing very different. Check it out here.
  • Apple running behind on iOS 7

By Victor Oshiro | Posted April 3, 2013 at 10:16AM
Some interesting stuff in this short article but the most significant is that iOS 7 is running behind schedule. Apple tends to release a new OS with new phones and then make it available as an upgrade a couple of weeks later for older hardware users. This all affects the next iPhone release...

    EnerPlex Surfr Solar Phone Chargers

By Victor Oshiro | Posted March 3, 2013 at 10:38AM
This last CES was a boon for us with great products to work with. Today we are going to look at one product that may be the most useful product of the entire show. EnerPlex was kind enough to send both an iPhone 4s and Samsung Galaxy S III Surfr for review. What's a Surfr? How about an external...

    Blue Mikey Digital Microphone

By Victor Oshiro | Posted February 18, 2013 at 10:54AM
Blue Microphones Tiki really blew me away a couple of weeks ago. Today I bring you the Blue Mikey which promises to make recording with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod a whole new experience. This time Blue sent in the Mikey Digital mic. The Mikey Digital is compatible with iPhones and iPads. For...

    LifeProof iPhone cases

By Victor Oshiro | Posted February 17, 2013 at 05:34PM
LifeProof recently sent in two of their iPhone cases for evaluation. One for iPhone 4S and one for iPhone 5. Previously with my iPhone I've been using an Otter Box case. I liked that it had a rigid case that was surrounded by a soft rubber case. Sadly, after about of a year of use my Otter Box...
  • The Apple iWatch Rumors Just Became Apple iWatch Reports

By Victor Oshiro | Posted February 11, 2013 at 10:14AM
The idea of trying to watch Facebook videos or read e-mail on a watch just doesn't appeal to me. I stopped wearing a watch a few years ago just because quite literally there's a clock around me at all times - my phone, computers at work, on the walls, etc. Now I'm supposed to be web connected...
  • Apple to Release New Ipad with 128 GB of Storage!

By Quincy Oshiro | Posted January 29, 2013 at 01:37PM
Apparently some people need 128 gb of storage, and Apple is ready to provide that with their release of a new Ipad on Feb 5. Check it out here!
  • 5 new Apple products for 2013

By Victor Oshiro | Posted January 10, 2013 at 10:55AM
Most of this isn't new information but seems like the release dates have firmed up for a lot of products. I think the June release for the iPhone 5s is more realistic as the phone releases are usually closely tied to OS updates for older phones. Check out the article here.
  • Happy New Year! No real surprises in this article but this is the first report I've seen with a tentative release date. Samsung hit a home run with the Galaxy phones so it stands to reason a larger screen is in the iPhone's future. What is odd is the idea that there may be different screen sizes...
  • Apple releases iOS 6.0.2 to fix reported Wi-Fi issues

By Victor Oshiro | Posted December 20, 2012 at 10:42AM
Just checked on my iPhone and this update is showing up. It should be out in the next couple of days. I've had issues with my phone not seeing public wifi networks. Its a quick read and can be found here.
  • Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4 might not launch until 2014

By Victor Oshiro | Posted December 12, 2012 at 12:03PM
This is bad news to gamers everywhere if it is correct. Great news for Nintendo though. Read the article here.
  • Put this one in the incredibly long title category. The timing of this possible iPhone is about right as it stays with past trends. Super HD display? I thought the Retina Display was Super HD? To me the better battery mentioned would make this a worthy purchase. Read the article and let us know...
